IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH

The Samaritan Woman is one of the best-known encounters Jesus had. He dialogues with her, breaking Jewish traditions and thus, turning her life upside down.

As a sinner who had a horrible reputation and who was living with the 6th man of her life, that woman could not find peace or rest in any religion of this world.

She was an undeserving, reckless, covenant-breakers and sinner. However, despite her condition, Jesus offered her the living water of pardon.

The Tradition-Breaker Jesus points to her sins, but instead of just condemning her, He offers forgiveness and love, so the text ends with two conclusions:

  1. That woman was transformed by the Gospel. Jesus’ offer included the payment for her sins at His Cross, a new heart, and a new life with new perspectives and holy dreams.
  2. That woman was driven to worship. Not the religious kind of service, but the kind that God looks for, because it’s offered in Spirit and in Truth.

Do you have a lifestyle that doesn’t fit any religious pattern? Do you try to hide your shame? Are you preoccupied with others discovering your darkest thoughts?

The same Jesus who spoke and transformed that women offers relief and forgiveness to you.

He can transform your life completely and call you to truly worship Him in the beauty of His holiness.

If you think you don’t deserve it, you are the very type of person to whom He offers salvation and love. Come to Him and taste the living water of the Gospel.
