Ministries
For all ages. Our goal is not only to teach God’s word but also to cause people to love the Lord with all their soul, strength and mind. The lessons are geared to each age level to help maximize the teaching time. The classes are small allowing for interaction and relationship building.
Presbytery Camp
Is held starting the last Monday of the month in June. It is held at Camp Sonlight in Summerfield (Ocala) Florida. We get away from the digital distractions and enjoy the creation that God has given us to enjoy. We teach the truths of God’s Word, have times of singing and reinforcing what the campers learn through games and quiz time so that when they leave, the truths are implanted into their minds. We have field sports and activities that all ages enjoy, along with swimming every afternoon. We attempt to teach cooperation, understanding, kindness, and helpfulness. The food is prepared by several of the members of the church who offer of their time and actually pay to come serve the campers. The ratio of staff to camper is very high. This year will be our 35th year holding presbytery camp.
VBS (Vacation Bible School)
Is held each summer with a different theme. It is generally for a week’s time. Our goal is to minister not only to the children of the church but to reach out to others outside our church in our community.
Youth Convention
Is a special getaway for our teens between Christmas and the new year. We go away for 3 days of intensive teaching. We do not ignore the fun aspect, but that is not the focus of Youth Convention.
CEF (Child Evangelism Fellowship)
Is a parachurch ministry focusing on reaching unchurched children with the gospel of Christ, discipling them with the word of God and establishing them in the local church. We have two primary outreaches with CEFL:
CYIA (Christian Youth in Action) – Christian Youth in Action strives to challenge young believers to serve God with their summer. This program trains teenagers to share the Gospel with children through exciting 5-day clubs. The 5-day clubs are taught and led by teams of trained teens who stepped up to the challenge of fulfilling the Great Commission right here in Lakeland. During the week-long training process, students learn how to teach Bible lessons, lead songs, help children memorize God’s Word, and much more.
Good News Club – A weekly club that meets at the local Elementary school, The church has sponsored a Club at Padgett Elementary for the past 8 years. The Club has Bible lessons, memory verses, songs, and games for any of the elementary students who want to attend.
The Battle
Is a quarterly event for the teens of the church. The location is alternated between and the Bible Presbyterian Church in Lakeland and Cape Canaveral. This is a time of practical application of the teen’s faith. We also have a game that they can enjoy.
